How to Stop Believing Negative Thoughts About Your Body

You’re going to have negative thoughts about your body, but you don’t have to believe them.

It’s not just you who nitpicks every photo of themselves because we’re subconsciously reminded to see the negative of our bodies on a daily basis. How many ads sponsored posts do you see about losing body fat, leaning out, eliminating cellulite, etc.?

We are constantly assured that losing weight is the answer to our problems and will make us happier and healthier. Guess what? Even at my leanest, I could still find things to change, and I bet you have, too.

We went hiking last weekend and my husband got this great photo of me holding our 2-year-old and the first thing I thought was, “ugh, my arms!”

HOLD UP!

It made me feel self-conscious and critical of my entire body, but that is NOT the memory I want to hold on to. My smile was so big as I laughed as he stuffed a granola bar in his mouth while asking me to carry him. THAT is the memory I want to keep from that photo, not that my arms could look smaller.

Don’t fall victim to your negative thoughts! I promise you that no one else is picking you apart like you are.

Here is a quick exercise you can do TODAY.

The very next negative thought you have about your body, I want you to say it aloud, hear how petty it sounds, and MOVE THE F ON! This won’t just happen once today. Every single time you catch yourself in the mirror and frown, see a photo of you and write it off as a bad, Google ways to lose weight or tone up, really ask yourself why.

Let’s wear what we want to wear, eat what we want to eat, and move how we want to move.

To fight this, I created a transformational workshop WTF is Body Positivity Anyway? Stop Obsessing and Start Loving Your Body. Ready to take body positivity from theory to real life? RSVP now for details, or drop a comment!
